The Blur effect on adjustment layers will be very usefull for standard and uncommon projects.
I'm working on a project and I have to emulate a special print process on fabrics before and after the wash.
I have to work on around 200 layer and have the possibility to create with adjustment layers the emulation of final product after the wash (i need to hide and show effects). I have a loot of elements in my preset for emulate the wash, but the GAUSSIAN BLUR is probably the last piece I need for create the perfect emulation.
it is not possible to do that with all the single layers or with smart objects, because I mostly require something like a folder where I put my effects for temporary influence all the layers below (like normal adjustment layers of photoshop or after effects) and I will show and hide when i need.

Could be a great idea give the possibility to add blur in adjustment layers or Add effects to folders, like the bleeding options

I'm not sure why you say that smart objects don't work. You can change a layer group into a smart object, so if needed you can even change your entire project into one single smart object. And then you can add gaussian blur as a smart filter to that.

The Yellow Group on the top of my project is the effects folder.
the green folders are the artboards
so for the moment with the yellow folder I can apply all the desired adjustment layers on all the Artboards, and I can easily hide and show effect (i need to do it many times for check some project tones after the wash)

I've tried to transform the yellow folder on smart object but.. all the adjustment layers will not work on the artboards below..
If I move all the project on a single smart object I Can't Edit quickly the layers, I have to switch from one project to the other for see the difference. and i will lose the exact position when I'm checking the details and i cant have the reference of the other artboards for check the style.

Thanks

I think it is possible with scripting. I can try to do it, however I am not sure I understood enough each piece of your text. You had to describe it to me more vividly. And the most important is that all you're saying possible to do manually, or at least most of it that later this process could be automated?

Tell me please your nicname on regular Adobe Photoshop Forum?

Sorry for the confused words and language gap.
"What I need Is have adjustment layer with blur"

I have to apply a temoprary effect at last to 4 different artboards with more than 300 layers and have the possibility to see or hide quickly the effects when i work on it.

Thanks

Just complementing Johan's answer, the best option to show different versions in a single PSD file is using the Layer Comps feature. Apply the Gaussian Blur to the Smart Object (be it made from a single layer or an entire group, as Johan mentioned) and create different Layer Comps for every step. If you assign a shortcut to the "Show next Layer Comp" and "Show previous Layer Comp" commands you will have your presentation ready in no time, straight from Photoshop.

Not sure about the application of your solution i will try it tomorrow if i find time.
BTW I'm working in a multiple artboards where i have to provide style consistency and work directly on a big variety of layers.

if i create smart objects, after I have to open the separated composition/project inside the smart object and lost the possibility to modify every single level when i check the other artboard style.

what I need is basically an adjustment layer with blur, I've tried other options but they are not confortable for what i have to do :D
Hopefully the adobe team will create something similar in the next versions

PS Thanks

I think it's a great idea. I'd like to expand on it some more. What you want can't be done in Photoshop. It can be done in After Effects though. Applying Gaussian Blur or any effect to every single smart object is not the same as applying those same effects to an Adjustment Layer.

In addition if you save an After Effects frame as a layered Photoshop file with an Adjustment layer, it just comes up as a blank layer, and everything in your adjustment layer is just gone. That's an incompatibility that shouldn't be there.
