Elements 10: I need to allow a friend, who is not a member, to log in as a guest, and download my album.

I have uploaded several photos for a friend who wants to download them. Does he have to create an account and log in, or can he come in as a guest?

Which product or service are you asking about?

Thanks,

I just installed Photoshop Elements 10, and this complimentary service for storing photos came with it. Is this more like social media for Photoshop users?

Yes, I guess you could say that! From within Elements you can set up your album for sharing, as well as allowing downloads. You can then send the web link to your friend, who does not need to log in to see or download the photos.

If you need some more specific guidance, let us know if you are on a Mac or PC.

Please try the following:
-Go into the Organizer
-Select the album to be shared
-Select the share tab on the far right, under the house icon
-Select Online Album
-Click on Share Existing Album, the album to shared, and click on Share To: Photoshop.com. Also, Click on the light bulb icon for some more info as to how this works.
- Click on the Next button
- You can then select the template you want to use for the slide show. A preview will play.
- You will also see on the right a "Sharing" panel that allows you to send email to your friend, by adding their address.
- Also, check the Allow Viewers to: Download Photos box so your friend can download your photos.
- Then click on Done

Let me know if this works for you and if you have any further questions.

-Peter

OK I tried that. I couldn't find a house icon, but there was a toolbar at the bottom of the screen with an Icon that said "Share Album". When I clicked on that, it took me to a screen where I could enter the email address of the person I want to share the album with. I'll know more once he gets back to me to tell me if it worked. I greatly appreciate all your help.

Thank you very much for going to such lengths to explain the process to me. It's rare to receive this kind of help from a request. I'm pretty much a newbie at these things, and just upgraded from Elements 06 to 10. Totally different, and haven't figured out yet how to even open the program. I'm used to opening photos by dragging them from IPhoto to elements. That's obviously changed, but you have excellent tutorials, and I'm a fast learner, so I'm encouraged. Thank you again for your efforts.
