By default, Photoshop.com sends an e-mail each time a Group Album invitation is received or accepted, or when new photos or comments are added. To change notification preferences, do the following:

  1. In the Photoshop Express Organizer, click the arrow to the right of My Library, and then click Notifications. You can also access Notifications by choosing Me > Notifications on the Photoshop.com home page.

  2. Click Settings at the bottom of the window to open the Notification Preferences dialog box.

  3. Deselect the notifications you don’t want to receive and click OK.

this is only for Photoshop.com members who receive notifications but how do I turn off notifications for people who are NOT Photoshop.com members??? Especially the masses of notifications they receive about my albums? There ought to be a choice to turn off sending out any notifications!

When does photoshop.com send the "automatic" notifications to selected contacts to viwe albums - and how do I control this? This one of several problems I am having, is that email notifications are being sent in mass (9 to 13) all at one time - as far as I can tell randomly - sometimes a week after I have indicated I wanted to share the album. Searching for answers using help and tutorial features has resulted in nothing other than circular nightmares and having chat feature is next to worthless to those of us that work for a living (and do this stuff on weekends)

And by the way - exactly what are the notifications listed above mean?

If you were trying to share an album with some selected contacts, ideally they would receive email notifications the moment you click on 'Share' (ofcourse there can be some delays depending on the load on the server)

Did this issue happen just once or is it happening repeatedly?

I would like to know the same thing, how to stop sending notifications (often send in triplicate) to my friends who are getting annoyed about this? I am also considering going elsewhere with my photos because sending notifications seems out of control!

PLEASE answer!

Hi

Were you trying to 'Share' an album with the non photoshop.com members or were you trying to add them as a collaborator to a Group Album.?

I cant think of any other scenario where a non photoshop.com member would receive a notification.

Were all the notifications similar or any different? If possible can you forward me one of those notifications?

Thanks for answering. I was trying to share group albums. Some of my friends joined photoshop.com while others did not. I have no idea what the notifications looked like and, as my friends told me, they all deleted them, promptly. Nobody liked the deluge of notifications.
I am not a programmer but how difficult would it be to give Photoshop.com members the choice of not sending notifications at all since we can forward the link to our pages?

When you added non photoshop.com members to your Group Album, they should receive not more than a single notification. In case they did, that is most likely a system error on our side.

As far as giving the 'choice to not send notification' is concerned , don't you think its even better to let the 'receiver' decide to receive those notifications or not. And that's why we have the option to 'disable' receiving notifications, which has been explained on the top. Of course that's only for photoshop.com members.

And we believe there are also a set of users who wouldn't be very comfortable with copying and sending the links on their own and would prefer the automatic sending of notifications.

I hope it all made sense..
