Lightroom mobile: Auto-save feature desperately needed!!

I worked on an image for about an hour when the app crashed. When I opened it back up, all my edits were gone - all 1-hour’s worth. It would be good to implement a much need feature that enables auto-save on a user-defined interval.

There already is auto-save. Lightroom is a non-destructive editor that stores edits in metadata saved to the cloud and constantly does that. You may know that there is no manual save at all for that reason...

I can't tell you what happened and why you lost an hour work, but it wasn't lack of auto save. Which version of Lightroom Mobile were you using and do you have a subscription or are you using the free version without any plan?

Ralph,

Commits to the cloud on Lightroom mobile only happen when you move to a different image. If you work for a while on a single image it is prudent to move to a different image occasionally to commit the changes. As long as you stay on the same image no sync of those settings will happen.

If a crash or other issue occurs without commiting the changes, those edit settings will be lost.

Thank you, Rikk. I wasn’t aware of moving to another image to commit changes. It’s a bit of a kluge, but I’ll take it if it’s all we have. However, it would be great to have that feature built in, as well as the ability to create virtual copies.
