I use Photoshop Elements 2018, right now it doesn't support the Sony A7iii raw (arw) files, I downloaded a converter to dng for editing but would prefer to simply edit those files directly!

For a yet unexplained reason adobe won't update pse 2018 past camera raw 10.2, which came out in February of 2018. So it's been about 5 months since pse 2018 got an camera raw update.

Your Sony A7iii needs camera raw 10.3 or newer.

Probably adobe is prohibited by law from updating pse 2018 to camera raw 10.3 and later because of new features added and adobe is not allowed to add new features to perpetual software unless customers pay extra for them or they are bug fixes.
That's why adobe went to subscriptions with photoshop cc to get around that.

Adobe may have provided a RAW converter in January but most of us rely on DNG anyway.   I've said this before:  each camera manufacture should provide their own file format as a download for their own camera brand.   Adobe cannot be relied upon, to provide every single file format per each camera.

Check my link below, my own page of file formats to get an idea of how many file formats there are.  Adobe would need to provide a file format for Just about everything, and they would overload their software.   Camera file formats are in the lower-right column.  http://pixsavers.com/photoformats.html
