Unfortunately, CS5 is too old to run on Catalina. The CC Photography plan gives you Photoshop and Lightroom and ongoing updates for OSes as part of the plan.

Hi Jeffrey,
Thank you for taking the time to respond.  When you say "the CC Photography plan gives you photoshop, etc. updates... Does that mean I can still access old files built with CS 5?
Thank you again,
Deb

Catalina breaks software that is not 64-bit. If you want to keep using old software you will have to go back to Mojave or earlier.

You could also run an older OS using Parallels or one of the numerous virtual machine systems, like Fusion or VirtualBox. Run your old software from the old OS that way, without having to switch your whole computer back to Mojave.

You can find out what software is not 64-bit by going to 'About This Mac > System Information > Software > Applications'. Click the '64-Bit' column header to see all the applications that won't work on 64-bit operating systems.
