Elements: Purchased version shows the trial screen when I launch the app

I purchased PSE 12 several months ago to upgrade an older version. Now, if I try to drag a photo into it for editing, I get a screen demanding that I sign in for the TRIAL version. When I close that, it stops the entire opening procedure. BUT, if I click directly on the PSE icon, I get that same screen (WHY???) but the app opens and works fine. Obviously it recognizes that I have purchased it and have the right to use it, but this multi-step process is driving me crazy! What can I do to get rid of it?

Try creating a new Admin user account and launch Elements from the new user account, click license this software, enter your serial #. Then relaunch to see if the problem goes away: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...

Do you mean a new Admin acct for my MAC? I'm reluctant to do that. Seems like it might open a whole new can of worms.

Correct. It's a troubleshooting step that will let us know if your problem is permissions related.

I have no idea how to do this. Think I will just continue to live with the problem.
