Photoshop: I need help with psd files not converting

I was making some color psds to offer as resources
I got them all done and was then trying to test them on unedited photos to see how they look
I keep getting an error message [cannot convert layer or fill adjustments to the destination document mode] whenever I try to move the layers over?
its never happened to me before and the only help I found online searching was to check the color modes of each file to make sure they all match but they DO ALL MATCH
so I am at a loss and have no idea what to do lol

obviously I am not going to share the resources without seeing they can be used first so any help or ideas would be very much appreciated!

[note I asked in a forum I as in and received this advice]:
it might be because of the colour mode, you might find a solution here https//cdnnickpichost/images/IQujSmgif

EDIT : I think I replied a bit too quickly, the image you’re trying to put you coloring is in RGB/8# while the original file is in RGB/8, I think changing the color mode will fix it https//cdnnickpichost/images/IQujSmgif

anyways i checked all that and everything was the same and nothing is working for me
I did a test with other peoples downloaded psd files and they still work just fine for me, only the ones I made will not convert over to the new tab and I dont understand why

i have images for reference:

I clicked ok and it still worked [it worked before the settings also so i wasnt worried for it i just wanted to test other variables besides my files]

With your destination image, try edit/convert to profile/Adobe RGB and see if that fixes.

Some adjustments only work in certain bit depths and color modes. Make sure the documents have matching bit depths and color modes. (e.g. 8-bit/RGB > 8-bit/RGB)

In the last screenshot, you have a layer mask targeted. Might that be the problem?

okay so i decided to try and move the layers one by one over to the new tab and im getting that message since messing with the settings earlier in the day which is still weird to me because I never had this issue before with moving anything to a new file

but they are moving and working

the layers that wont move are the color lookup layers
it says adjustment / fill layer cannot be converted again, so im guessing thats whats stopping me from moving my whole group of files over.

i just dont know why they wont let me move them because ive been able to in the past

Crystal, I'm going to email you. I'd like to get a copy of the two files that reproduce the error.

I really appreciate all the help but i deleted the color lookup files and remade them with selective coloring and then they worked and i saved over the old psds. I guess i just still dont understand why color lookup layers cant be moved but i dont have to use them so problem solved lol

Thank you so much though!

If you hit it again, please send the files. We couldn't reproduce. You should be able to move them.
