I just got charged for lightroom and photoshop when you stated there was a one month free trial before and then $14 odd dollars a month afterwards. What the heck? Where is the one month free trial?

AFAIK, the trial period is 7 days, not one month.

No, the Australian website stated that the first month was free and then you pay $14 from the second month onwards. It was quite specific so I was shocked when my bank account was debited the $14 odd right away.

May Adobe is doing it like the banks when you buy a house on a mortgage. you pay off the interest first.
So the Free month is at the end, IE the last month is free.

So was it a free trial of a month, or was it a special offer for a year subscription for the price of 11 months (one month free)? In that case it makes sense if you pay each month in advance rather than afterwards. Or indeed the free month is extra, at the end of the period.
