If you registered the software with Adobe, then your serial number information will be available on adobe.com with your Adobe ID account.

I see an Elements 8 serial # registered under the email address you've used to log in. Once logged in, go here: https://accounts.adobe.com/products to see your serial #s.

I looked up your account using the email address you've used to log in here. I don't see any registered products.

Is it possible you have a different Adobe ID with and different email address?

If you still have a copy installed and activated, you may be able to register the serial # by selecting Help>Register...

I found your registered product. It's under the email address with just your last name as the prefix for your email address. Let me know if you can access it, or if you want me to move it under the account/email address you've used here.

Hi Jeffrey, I think my girlfriend and I are in the same boat as the original poster here. I got her a copy of Photoshop Elements 11 last year, i think, and now we want to put it on a new computer.

we have the box and the dvd, but the original plastic case for the dvd seems to have gone missing. I can't seem to find the cd-key listed anywhere and we had not registered the software with adobe. How can i extract the cd-key from the existing installation?

[edit]

Someone on another post recommended use of a program called license crawler to pull the cdkey from registry data. seems like it worked! the installer accepted the key I found and now its running the installation. fingers crossed!

That's good to hear. Using Help>Register would extract the serial # from the product and register it to your Adobe account. Be sure you register your serial # so it won't get lost again: http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotco...

I've got a problem of the same kind. My wife has a preinstalled photoshop elements 8 and premiere elements on her Sony Vaio VPCEA3L1E. I changed her hard disk to SSD. After restoring the system the PS asks for registration code. Am I to buy and register a new licence, or is there any other possibility?

Just reinstall, and re-enter your serial number.

After my daughter was playing around with the key pad, somehow I hit the 'refresh' prompt for my computer, without fully reading that it would totally refresh my computer to almost it's original version. During the process, my computer removed the adobe photoshop elements 11 version. I don't have the product key anymore, and went on the adobe site to retrieve it, but seems that I never registered the product. How can I retrieve the product key without having to repurchase or install some 3rd party program to retrieve the key? Please help!
