I guess I can accept that some people would for reasons I can't possibly comprehend want Layer Visibility states to appear in the History palette, but it makes me Big Sad. At least you didn't put Zoom/Pan in the undo stack like AutoCAD (unspeakably infuriating).

Can we have a checkbox to turn this off, please?

It's there, but you have to open the History panel's popout menu. It's enabled by default now—bottom of the list of options. I turn mine off, too.

Thank you very much!! I have lived my whole life not knowing Panel Options existed! I was looking in Edit > Preferences ...

You're quite welcome. Adobe over the years has hidden things everywhere, even under keyboard shortcuts they don't tell you about. They used to build in Easter Eggs that were fun to hunt for. I haven't heard anyone mention them or how to find them in a long time.  Maybe they're superfluous now since half the program might as well be thought of as part of an Easter Egg hunt. LOL
