Lightroom CC for mobile (iOS): I don’t see my (Apple) Photos folders

I see my folders in the Apple Photos app but not in the Lightroom CC app. I only see the root folders/albums. I can find all my images in the ‘All Photos’ folder but with over 10k of images, it would be helpful to have folder support.

I assume you mean when you're importing photos from the camera roll? Have you tried tapping the word Camera Roll at the top?

Correct, I am talking about the importing photos from ... feature.

Tapping the Camera Roll at the top opens a list which starts with 'All Photos' followed by all root albums (local and shared). But, this list does show folders (nor the albums that are in them).

I have a lot of albums and in order to avoid an endless list of root albums, I created folders (per year range). This is a structure that you cannot create from an iPad, you need to do it from the Photos desktop application. You can create a structure like this:

Album 1
Folder 2000-2004 > Album 2
Folder 2000-2004 > Album 3
Folder 2005-2009 > Album 4
Album 5

The above structure shows up fine in Apple's Photos app. I see my albums and folders and when I tap a folder, it slides open en shows me all the albums that are in it. However, in Lightroom CC, I only see Album 1 and Album 5. I don't see the folders and I don't see albums 3 through 4 in this list when I tap Camera Roll.

All the images from Albums 2 through 4 can be found in 'All Photos' but that's a big list and not easy to navigate and this is where albums and folders comes in handy.

Apple Photos and the Camera Roll have nothing to do with Lightroom CC. You can import photos from the Camera Roll into Lightroom, but they are separate apps. That means that the album/folder structure in Lightroom CC is also separate from the album structure of the Camera Roll.

They’re maybe separate apps, but since you have to go through Photos in order to import your images into LR (I know it’s an IOS limitation), and since the Shortcut support is very limited, it would be good to know if this request is limited by iOS (no acces to the file structure) or if it’s a feature not yet supported by LR.

You could use the CC desktop migrate from Photos tool to transfer your folder structure into CC.

I don't want my content on Adobe storage, already have plenty of iCloud storage. Would love for Lightroom to take advantage of it.
