I can't email photos from inside Lightroom. I followed the prompts in help to no avail. I downloaded 5.7 but the problem remained. It seems I am missing a drop down menu for email preferences. Email is working on all my other programs.

I am able to email with no problem from Outlook and from GMail. I am not certain what this email preferences drop down you are looking for is but I have attached a screenshot of what I think you are looking for:
