PHOTOSHOP CC 2015 - I cannot get my image to print at the size I want

I am printing on 17 x 22" sheets. The print I'm working on is stuck in the dimensions of 14 x 21", but I want to print at 12 x 18". I have tried through the image size dialogue box, changing the paper dimensions, changing the resolution...still insists on printing the larger size. I have shut the computer down, restarted and no change. HELP!

Which application are you using?
Which version?
Which OS version?

In the print dialog, did you accidentally check "scale to fit" (which would scale the image to fit the printable area)?

Thank you for your reply. I have updated my operating system, CC2015 and still no joy. I think the file may be corrupted, because i do not see a thumbnail in Bridge, only the PSD icon.
Starting form scratch.
One question while I have you...the scale to fit box was never checked...would that have worked to my favor?

OK, Photoshop will print at the size you tell it to in the print dialog. Lots of people are doing this (including myself) all the time.

No, Scale to Fit would do the opposite of what you want (and the exact symptom you described): it would scale the image to fit the available print area, and not print at the exact size you requested. But there are other scaling options in the Photoshop print dialog that could also change the print size, and you need to double check all of them, and all the size settings in the printer dialog as well.

If the file loads and displays correctly in Photoshop, then it is probably not corrupted.

Thank you very much for your thoughts. They are 'spot-on'.
