Lightroom Classic: I cannot make any backups since the last update

I have my catalog, backups and previews on a separate SSD disk, connected via a USB cable. This way I can work on both my laptop and my PC. I work with Windows 10. Since the last update of LR I can no longer use my catalog. This problem has been solved with help from Adobe via chat. Now it appears that I can no longer make backups with LR. I always get the message that there are no rights to do this to the SSD disk or that there is no space on it. I have never changed the rights for the disk and there is plenty of space. Is this due to the bug in LR v8.3 or is this a Windows problem? I have reviewed the permissions, nothing has been changed and these are open for storage.
I'm using a NAS for storage of my photos, not for my back ups.

Hi Lucie,

We have not been able to reproduce this on our end. Could you share the screenshot of the error you are seeing?

Also, as you mentioned you had your catalog repaired recently with the help of Adobe Support. Could you share your catalog files (<catalog name>.lrcat file, <catalog name> Helper.lrdata, <catalog name>.lrcat-wal) with us on keniya@adobe.com?

Just to isolate the issue further, could you try creating a new catalog and backing it up?

Thanks,
Smit

Smit, I believe it's the below error. I got this last week and thought I'd leave it as I've seen this in the past and sometimes it goes away. I just ran a backup because of this post and can reproduce.

An update to 8.3.1 is out. I’m not saying it will solve the issue, but maybe you’ll get lucky...

I had to copy the catalog to my internal disk and start LR from there. Then I could make a backup. After that I copied the catalog back to the external drive and I could work with LR in a normal way.

Can you NOW make a backup of the catalog without copying to your internal disk?
