Thanks for replying. I followed the fix recommended in Adobe forum . I restarted LR while pressing shift & alt keys and it worked ! The font size is small by default , but I wouldn't dare try to change it again !

The large font size made the right hand panel only partially visible rendering editing non operational.

Restarting LR CC 2015 while holding down shift & alt keys did the trick ! Should I dare try to change the font size again ?

I understand your point. After you increase the font size to very large, the next time you open Lightroom, even the preferences dialog, that is opened is in larger font and the preference window itself will not fit the screen. So, if you select small or default font size, you don't see the "Ok" button to save the changes. Instead you just see the cross(X) button in top, which cancels the changes you make.
So, in case you increase the font-size next time, remember to press Enter key, to save the changes, because by default 'Ok' button is selected after you change the font-size.
If this doesn't work, you have the Shift+Alt trick to reset preferences anyway.
