I bought a PS FB cover template. When I copy my high quality photos in and resize they become very pixelated. How can I fix this?

Would really appreciate some help. I'm trying to create a Facebook cover using a pre-made template for a collage of images. All of the photos I have tried to paste in to the clipping mask and resize using free transform end up horrendously pixelated. The images are around 5000x4000pixels and 240ppi. I tried various adjustments to dimensions and resolution and resampling using bicubic sharper, nothing I've tried works.

Before you resize them, try making them smart objects first as than they shouldn't pixelate. Right click the layer and choose convert to smart object.

Thanks for your reply John. I tried converting to smart object before resizing to various dimensions, still pixelated. I've now purchased another template which doesn't seem to have this problem so I'm thinking it's a problem with the template itself.

Only thing that makes sense is the resolution of the initial template effecting the photos you are dropping in. I'd open both templates and compare them under Image , image-size. Unless you have a fancy for the template they are easy to create yourself.
