Hi,
Thank's for the answer but this is the first thing I tried and it did not seem to work.
I tried to reimport the photo on a different computer and face tag where not there.
Only the keywords were reimported, but that was not enough, I was also expecting to keep the face tag (the region on the photo that highlights the face so that you know who is who).
So is this a bug ?
Otherwise it iwould be really nice to implement it, it makes sharing photo and this kind of information (face tag) a lot easier when you can write metadata inside
the file.

Eric,

As of now, the face coordinates are not written to image metadata but just the tag.

I am not too sure if the image metadata has any specific standard to store this coordinates insome specific form in metadata which any application should understand.

Hi Vaishali,
thanks for the answer.
I will quote John R. Ellis for a similar issue in lightroom:

The Metadata Working Group, of which Adobe and Microsoft are members, has already defined a standard method for representing regions and metadata associated with those regions. In particular, keywords, map locations, and persons (as already defined by the standards) can be associated with regions. This all gets stored in XMP metadata, of course.

See "Guidelines for Handling Image Metadata, Version 2", section 5.9 for more details.

It would be great if LR supported that standard.

So I believe we should have those info written in the file.
This way
- we can easily exchange with other software
-We can easily create website that can take advantage of those region in the metadata.
-We can process photos faster: indeed if a photo already contains such tags then there is no need to recognize face again, instead we just need to read them and fill in the database.
