Hi there! So i created a watermark for my pictures, applied it and than i wanted to upload the watermarked picture online. For some reason the file i want to upload is always greyed out and i'm not able to open it for upload. I merged layers, flattened the image, made sure is a JPEG file and not exceeding size limits. I tried saving it for "web and devices" and that didn't work either. I looked all over online for something that i'm missing but i can't figure it out, so frustrating. Would really appreciate if someone can help! Thank you! =)

(using photoshop CS5)

Photoshop doesn't have upload commands, so I'm not sure what you're referring to.

And many people edit images in Photoshop and use them on the web every day - so without more details, I have no idea what might be going wrong.

Chris, thanks for your reply!
I know that photoshop doesn't have upload commands, thats not what i am
referring to. My problem is that after i edit the photo and put it in a folder with other pictures, when i am online and want to upload pictures, the ones that were edited are greyed out and i'm not able to upload them. Also iphoto doesn't recognize them. As i mentioned before i made sure the file is a JPEG and isn't too big, that the image was flattened and layers merged. What am i missing?

How are you uploading the files? What application is showing the files grayed out?

Is there any chance you saved the JPEG in CMYK by mistake? (browsers and iPhoto can't handle CMYK JPEG welll)

Could you tell us what you were talking about and how you solved it?

Sure. Basically when i opened a picture in photoshop and applied my watermark, after, when for example i wanted to upload it to Facebook, the picture was greyed out in the file, therefore i couldn't choose it to upload it.

I think that i might have messed around with the picture too much, trying to merge layers, flatten the image ecc. So what i did was open the picture again in photoshop, apply the watermark without making a new layer ecc (like a tutorial said you should do), saved it as a JPEG and that put it in "my pictures " folder.

The upload worked this way. i'm not sure this is the reason, but doing it this way worked. Even though i don't see why it shouldn't work also with new layers.

Thanks for your help Chris!
