I know this question was asked previously but the person's question was not really answered. Let me be more specific. I have a new Dell which came with PhotoShop Elements 9 and I want to import photo files (photos) from Windows Live Photo Gallery. Thank you.

I do this regularly. It is cumbersome.

1. Determine the name of the folder to be moved using Windows Photo gallery.

2. In Photoshop Elements:
*click file/getphotos (at this point, Elements often issues a prompt box with a "warning" that requires you click ok before proceeding. I haven't figured out what causes this prompt, but I have found it pops up most of the time. Once this little nuisance is gone, you select the folder to be moved by clicking on it from the drop down menu on this Elements page. Then:
*click select all/open.
The transferred files will then automatically be brought up on the screen. click ok to import them.

(I find it better to import the entire folder, and delete any unwanted files using Elements.)

Hope this helps
