I love Adobe products and want to help make them better. How do I become a pre-release tester of Photoshop, Lightroom, Elements, or any of the other products?

We generally look for customers who are active in the community and are passionate about our tools. If you're highly active on this site, our user to user forums, and other product forums, that's a good sign to us of your level of interest is high. There are several folks who participate on this as well as our prerelease.

Shouldn't Adobe instead seek out people who are NOT passionate about its tools, nor active on this site and forums, to gauge what people who aren't familiar with and indoctrinated to your workflows think of them? How else can you gauge what untapped, potential customers think of your products?

We also do that, though those people rarely stick around for beta testing.

I'd stick around. Sort of have to for my job.

Adobe don't need only beta testers. They resolve only a part of the client problems.
That's why I'm always inviting Adobe staff to come to us and see themselves what any beta tester is unable to see/experience.
In our case, having 6000 raw new images to deal with every day with a intercontinental production team.
What beta tester can give this?
Only using big image production systems.
Creative Cloud is solving only a part of our problems ignoring the rest and not giving any hope of dealing with them.

At least, Adobe could send us a good beta tester to get the data he/she need...

There are bugs never solved from CS5 until now and they are beeing used now the same. For example, UI framework on Bridge has never been upgraded.
For example, the team of Cameraraw plugin don't use the same color sampler tool integrated with photoshop color sampler (this should be logical and it would be 'crucial' for our productivity).
