How do I align a sequence of face shots so they are all right on top of each other in layers? I have multiple photos of the same face changing and I want to make a stop motion animation of them. However, the pics are slightly off one from the other.

Depending on the content Edit > Auto-Align Layers may be no option and you may have to manually align them.
For this you can reduce the topmost Layer’s opacity, hide all the others and then start from the lowermost up and make them visible and move them into position with the Move Tool one by one.

Christoph, yes that is how I usually do it. But I have close to 80 or so and was hoping to automate it a bit. I will check out the auto-align, thanks.

Hi Marty-
Did you try File>Scripts>Load Files into Stack?

There's an option box to "Attempt to align Layers"

Christoph makes a good point that it is entirely dependent on the content of the images if this will actually work.

Good Luck!

Hi Matt, I haven't tried that, no. But I will now! I did it the manual route so far and it took some time but is getting there. Thanks!
