Hello all,
I would really appreciate your support on an LR mobile issue. I will be a full-time traveler soon. Since I won't have a laptop/desktop with me on my trip, synchronization with LR CC and storing photos on the laptop/desktop is not an option. I would like to use LR Mobile as the main asset; not as the side asset that supports LR CC. I would prefer to work with one the following workflows:

Workflow - 1:
Shoot in RAW
Transfer RAW files to Ipad through card reader and import to LR Mobile
Cull, rate, edit RAW files on LR Mobile
Transfer RAW files with XMP files (including edits, ratings, captions, etc.) to HDD for storage since my storage space on Ipad is limited & I won't have internet most of the time (so, not feasible sync with creative cloud)
Transfer RAW files with XMP files to Ipad and import to LR Mobile whenever I need to access RAW files with previous edits, ratings, captions, etc.

Workflow - 2:
Shoot in RAW
Transfer RAW files to HDD through embedded card reader
Connect Ipad to the HDD
Choose the folder location on HDD to import RAW files and change the LR Mobile's target directory where XMP files will be stored as the folder on HDD
Cull, rate, edit RAW files on LR Mobile
Access RAW files with previous edits, ratings, captions, etc. whenever I am connected to HDD

My equipments are Apple Ipad Air 2 (64 gb), Apple Lightening to SD Card Camera Reader, WD My Passport Wireless Pro (3 tb), Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II.

I've made a lot of research; but, I couldn't find a way to follow any of the workflows. I am sure I am not the only who has this issue - can you please help me out?
Thanks a lot.

I don't think that is possible. iOS does not allow apps to access the storage space of other apps, so the only way you could move images and xmp files from Lightroom Mobile to an external storage disk (or access images that are already stored externally) would be if Lightroom Mobile supports this. It does not.

Agreed. You'd have to look at alternative apps, as Lightroom Mobile isn't (currently, at least) designed to work this way.

Thanks for the replies. I've checked many apps, but couldn't find an app with the a decent collection management and editing ability. LR mobile is a great product and it would be an amazing individual asset if it includes some additional functions. I've read two threads with great suggestions:

1) synchronizing only XMPs over creative cloud instead of raw files for remote travels (https://feedback.photoshop.com/photos...)

2) having access to metadata on LR mobile (https://feedback.photoshop.com/photos...)

I hope developers will hear these out and support the idea of mobility.
