How to open character style definition dialog without aplying style to curently selected text layer?

1) I have defined my character style
2) I want change it
3) I have selected text layer
4) I don't want change current text layer

The only one solution seems to be select non-text layer EVERYTIME before dialog opening.

This will be #23 on my ninja list here: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/an-open-letter-to-adobe?topic-reply-list%5Bse...

The problem is that I am changing layers and I ofted didn't noticed it.

Howdy Jaroslav,

To edit a Character (or Paragraph) style without applying it, just hold down OPT/ALT when you double-click on it.

Hope that helps,
David

Good. It works. You can mark it as answered.

Could somebody please add this secret shortcut to the public list? https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/default-keyboard-shortcuts.html :-)
