How can i Import HEIC files in LR CC Classic 8.0 ? It is said that there is support on Windows 10 since CC Classic 7.5
Currently I am running a testversion of LR CC Classic 8.0 But before purchasing I would really like to know how I can import HEIC files?
When trying to import from a folder with only HEIC files in them, LR says that there are no files

I haven't had a problem on a straight import, but you may be doing something different than me.  If you want to write out the steps you're taking, I'll try to replicate it.

My guess though is it's a bug that's the same/related to this post - Lightroom Classic: Synchronize Folder doesn't recognize HEIC files that need to be imported

Are they shown in the Import dialog box? Is there some error message?

Again, if you can post the steps you're taking, preferably with some screenshots or a video, we can try to replicate the behavior.  Otherwise, everybody's kind of flying blind.

1 - You didn't mention what steps you took to get to that screen.  Did you just click the Import button in the Library mode?

2 - What happens if you put a jpg in that same folder and then try to import?  Do any files show up at all?Just the jpg?  The jpg & the HEIC files?

3 - Perhaps it has something to do with it being in German, but the paths shown in your screenshot are different.  In Lightroom, it shows "I:\Bilder\iCloud Photos", but Windows Explorer shows "I:\Bilder\iCloud-Fotos".  Have you tried importing HEIC files from a different folder, like your desktop?

I'm having the same issue.  The heic files do not show up in the import window.  The adobe help topic says I should "Ensure that HEIC support is enabled in Adobe Camera Raw" but I see no way to get to the Raw Preferences from within Lightroom Classic.  There was another post that suggested doing this through the edit->preferences menu but I see no raw preferences there.

I did try to get to Raw preferences by installing Bridge but received an error "Camera Raw editing is not enabled".

I'm on Lightroom Classic CC 8.0 with Camera Raw 11.0 on a windows 10 machine.  I'm using the trial version if that makes a difference.

I am able to add heic files on my iphone via the lightroom app.  These in turn do sync to my lightroom classic 8.0 catalog however I get an error when I try to view them "Support for HEIC files requires an active subscription".

Could this be because I am currently using a trial subscription?

I went ahead and purchased the creative cloud photography plan and now the heic files will import into Lightroom Classic.  I am very frustrated with how Adobe has implemented this.  First off - I would expect their trial to support all the features, not just some features.  And if there are some features that are not supported Adobe should communicate this to the user some way.  I've wasted 3-4 hours on this today.

Thanks for the video.  That was helpful.  Regretfully, I can't replicate the behavior.
1 - If you uncheck the Ignore Duplicates option in the Import dialog, does it behave differently?
2 - If you remove the newly imported jpg from the HEIC folder (don't delete the file, just remove it from Lightroom) and then run the synchronize on the HEIC folder, what happens?
