Lightroom Desktop: How to "Enable Lens Corrections" by default

Hello!

I have the A6000 and a Sigma 16mm 1.4 lens.  When I import from the SD card into my Windows 10 system using the desktop app the "Enable Lens Corrections" is not selected by default and as this lens is wide I have to select it for every image.  I have 3 other lenses and this is automatically on for them.  See below image for how I want it to look but I have been unable to figure out how.  Help please :)

It's not possible at this point in time, but you could copy the settings from one photo and paste to all of the other photos instead of doing them individually.

Thank you for the input Victoria.  Why does this work for my Sony branded lens and not the Sigma?  It doesn't make sense for an independent product like Lightroom to work with some lens and not others. I feel like this used to default.

This is selected by default when I use the lens listed below but with the Sigma I have to manually select then copy to all images.  I'm not looking for a default profile (Adobe Color/etc) just the lens default to work on import.

You mean the Enable Lens Corrections checkbox is automatically checked for your Sony lens but not the Sigma? Or that when you check it, it automatically picks the right lens?

You may need to reset the Lens Corrections default setting for 'Enable Profile Corrections.' Select an ARW file shot with a Sony lens. Click on the master Reset button in the Develop module at the bottom of the settings panels. I suspect 'Enable Profile Corrections' will now be unchecked. Check that setting to enable it and while holding down the ALT key click on the Reset button and select 'Update to Current Settings.'

If 'Enable Profile Corrections' remains checked after hitting the Reset button uncheck it and while holding down the ALT key click on the Reset button and select 'Update to Current Settings.' Repeat again, but with 'Enable Profile Corrections' checked. Hopefully this will restore 'Enable Profile Corrections for ARW files shot using both Sony and third-party lenses such as Sigma.

Interesting. Is it only the lens profile defaults, or all defaults?
All of the default settings in LR Classic 9.1 are being applied in LR Desktop 3.1. If I change a default setting in LR Classic using ALT + Reset button and then 'Update to Current Settings' these settings are applied in LR Desktop 3.1 when I click on the three dots and select 'Reset to Original.' It appears LR Desktop's default settings are following changes made to the LR Classic's default settings real-time.

That should probably be reported as a separate bug then Todd. The last comment I'm aware of from the team on that was "we should prevent this until such a time as it can be controlled from within LrCC."

Maybe they thought differently after discussing how and why to correct this behavior. IMHO it makes no sense to have LR Classic and Desktop use different default settings. The primary issue is that currently you can't change the default settings from inside LR Desktop. If that was implemented should it also change the default settings inside LR Classic? I'll ping Rikk and Jeff for further investigation.

And that the defaults don't currently sync to the other devices. That's probably the bigger issue, as reset will then be different on different devices within the ecosystem.

Agreed, that needs to be fixed as well.
