I have been trying to to download jigsaw puzzle texture in ps cc. All the instructions are for cs 6 etc, and they don't work for cc. Anybody know how I can do this?

Instructions for older versions should still work without a problem.

For a pattern, just download the preset file and open or load it.
For an image, just download and open it (then create a pattern from it if you wish).

None of the instructions have worked for me. (a novice at the computer) Can you tell me what the steps to download in detail? I got as far as the adobe file on my c drive but clicking presets did not reveal puzzle as indicated in one of the tuts for cs 5 or 6.
Thanks for your initial response to my question

Not without knowing what you are trying to download and from where.

The basics of opening file and opening presets hasn't changed in a very long time.

Again, what exactly are you trying to download?
What web site are you trying to download it from?

The instructions for CS6 would still work just fine in CC 2015 -- nothing related to loading of documents or presets has changed.

You say you are trying to download. Where are you trying to download from?

Once you have your puzzle pattern, what file format is it in?
What problem are you have loading that file format?

Let me start over. There is supposed to be a puzzle texture on myhard drive according to an instruction book I have. It is said to be in the Adobe file, which it is not. It does not appear to be there. So I cannot download it or maybe I simply do not know how to find it. If this is the case then where and how can I find it on an Adobe site so that I can download it? This is for Photoshop CC and I have Windows 10.
And thanks for your patience.

So you're not downloading anything at all.

You haven't told us what book you are following, or specifically what you are trying to find/load.

Perhaps this is what you are looking for: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1043212

Sorry, don't know what could be clearer "how do you find, and download the puzzle texture for Photoshop CC?" Will have to get along without it now until someone comes along that could answer that.
Thanks for trying to help!

Again: what puzzle texture? You haven't told us what you are referring to, or what book you are reading that refers to it.

You are not providing any of the context that would help someone help you solve your issue(s).

Howdy George,

Could you include the instructions and (hopefully) URL for the puzzle texture you're trying to use?  We really would like to help you solve this problem, but we're definitely going to need more to go on.

Thanks,
David

Here is a link to the instructions for downloading the puzzle. I have tried to follow them exactly, with no success. If you choose to help me figure this out, please do not assume I am a computer pro.

Thank Y!ou

That is referring to the optional texturizer textures, discussed in the forum topic I posted for your yesterday.

Howdy Robert,

It looks like that texture is no longer included with Photoshop.  I did a quick check off all of the textures and there's nothing similar.

That said, I did find an Adobe doc that said you could download the texture from here: http://supportdownloads.adobe.com/detail.jsp?ftpID=4688.  If that fails, try here: https://assets2.adobe.com/link/ef3f108f-505f-45bc-84bd-6585c3d2ba70?section=activity_public (I know this works cuz I tried it).  Finally, you can always create your own puzzle texture.

Hope that helps,
David
