how to cut a large image in pieces in photoshop cc without exporting to web

Is there a way to cut up a large image in various different sized rectangles - per say - and saving each individually but keeping original resolution (not for web).
Unfortunatly it seems that the slice tool will only work with export to web.
Any suggestion most welcomed. Am using Photoshop CC 2018
Thanks

I know it is exist some plugin or program to do that,..unfortunately not remember where ,   let you know if I find something.
Meanwhile I will use a rectangle selection in combination reverse selection,...you shouldn't  loose no pixels.
Our printer doing that automatically, by "nesting " large images. It is Durst Thea, printing on photographic paper.

If you select it and do from menu Image/crop, save it , then undo, reverse selection .....should work

Just do it manually using guides, selections and copy/paste. Also, most printers will auto-tile a print if it's too large for the paper...

In PS Save As> Photoshop PDF. Open the PDF with Adobe Reader and follow the below instructions if printing to a locally attached printer:

Use can simply use the guide layout manager, then copy/paste the sections of your image...

not sure what you mean... the slice tool only creates rectangles?
