Photoshop: How to change an image to a solid colour without affecting the texture?

I'm really hoping someone can help me. I'm doing a mock up of the below image and I'm stuck on how to change the colour (particular pms colours have been chosen) without losing the texture of the folds etc. Obviously, I don't want the pattern to show through, it needs to be solid colours, but when I try applying a solid colour, even with a blending change, it's just not right.

My main aim is basically they want the grey fluffy design on the bouncer in the first image. Just trying to think about the best way to go around it all. Please help! Thanks in advance!
