PHOTOSHOP - EXTRACT ASSETS - How to change a layer boundaries to match the canvas without scaling

I have an image with multiple layers, all of which have been placed carefully to suit the overall size of the canvas.

I want to use Extract Assets to save every layer, but I want each layer to adopt the dimensions of the image, not the individual layer. So each layer will have some (maybe a lot) of transparent pixels.

One thought was to change each layer's boundaries so that they match the canvas but I can't find a way to do this in Photoshop without losing the existing position of the layer.

What's more, the Extract Assets feature seems to trim transparent pixels; I know this has been discussed elsewhere, but it would be so useful to be able to turn that off, perhaps on a per-asset basis.

Any help would be appreciated.
