Photoshop: How keep from reducing my megapixel size from 13 megapixels to 1.5?

You'll have to say exactly what you're doing when PS reduces the size of your image, as well as which version of PS and what OS you're on. From Camera Raw's workflow on, you can have some setting that will reduce the file size. We can't tell what might be happening without more information from you—perhaps a screenshot or two showing what you're trying to do when your file is reduced.

i operate on windows 10 i use photoshop cc 2019 i just uploaded a 13 meagpixel to photoshop and then saved right back and it save as a 1.5 mega pixel   i need at least 5 megapixel  what did i miss ? why does it reduce my megapixels

What type of file are you opening? If you're opening a raw file and exporting as a JPEG, of course the file will be smaller.

turns out i was saving wrong should of saved at large file standard  got it figured out
