Photoshop: How do I get my brush size to stay constant?

I'm very new to photoshop so this may be a no-brainer. So, I've made the 'brush presets' and all, but every time I click out of one brush to go to another brush, when I go back to the first brush, the brush size changes to whatever the default size is (in the case of the charcoal brush I'm using, 8px, even though I increased it to 30px before). How do I get stop the brush size from changing back? Or am I stuck having to re-edit the size every time I change brushes?

After you have increased the size of your brush, and would like to have it stay this size, you can go to Brush settings window, and then on the three little horizontal lines on the right side of the window, you click and choose "new brush preset", give your new brush setting a name and save your brush. It will show on the bottom of all your brushes in the brush menue.
Another advice for you is to save the brush to your computer, as well as all the new brushes that you create, because there is no guarantee that it will stay there, as Photoshop "likes" to crash every now and then, and then you just loose all your brushes(!). If you saved them in your computer, you are lucky and would just have to load them again to photoshop. I have just experienced this during the last week as I  lost all my good brushes that I created myself. Some were saved to my computer and some not yet. Those last ones were lost forever, and this is terribly irritating+ Adobe won't help, and unfortunately say they can't recover them...
There is much information and tutorial on the web for how to create and save brushes in photoshop.
Good luck!
