On the Photo drop down menu, could we get a "Notes" tab, that acts like a post it note? attach to an image. It would be real handy with development and printing. Coming back at a later date you could pop the note and see just what you were thinking. i.e. printing an image 3/4 different ways, which one seemed the best. History is no help because it records all or none, but the note could tell you. Maybe the note could be attached to, "noted in history" as well. Maybe a flag could be attached to a history item to mark a preference?

Lightroom! I can do a little work around on tagging the print I want in the history by using the Snapshot. But a post it attached to a particular image would be very helpful.

As a professional user, using Lightroom since v1 through 4, in conjunction with PS, I have often wanted to make this suggestion: we are frequently needing the ability to use something akin to a simple 'Post-it-Note' to record 'to do' type tasks or other relevant information on an INDIVIDUAL photo in a collection. We often exhaust all our colour coding and rating options, and it would be just SO useful to have a portion of the screen where a little popup can be shown, looking exactly like a post it note, where we can jot down info about the photo. It would greatly improve our workflow, as currently, we have to use notebooks etc to write things down. It is not something you can put in the metadata etc, but an 'on the fly' popup for each photo as requqired. Would be mighty handy.

We would store customers info, print sizes, actions we wish to use, etc etc, the list is endless really. It would be a killer feature in my opinion. We use a Win 7 post it notes currently, but that is not exactly streamlined, and is not tied to each photo, so next to useless.

Would appreciate you consideration

Rough translation: want a text comment for photos in Develop, that can be used, for example, to describe things that have to be done to a photo (e.g. remove red eyes, retouch, send to a friend etc.).

Yes, ths is the sort of thing I'm talking about. However, I was imgaining the popup to be contained in the grey workspace next to the large image itself. Ideally, it could be set to open automatically whenever the image is previwed, rather than having to click it or hover to open (more work) - an option could toggle this ideally, so notes can be hidden globally or open globally. Colour coded notes would expand the functionality even further, and obviuosly, the ability to move or drage a note could be an added bonus, or perhaps drag a line to parts of the image in question in the note

I would be happy to have a note available just for the overall image, however, the ability to mark up particular areas of an image, similar to 'mark up' in a Word document - or PDF markup. That also would be very useful. Having to look over at the metadata, and sometimes having to scroll, is too cumbersome for these sort of 'memo' type notes and the image notes, or specific image notes, would solve this. Also, it could be used to denote images as 'finals' for printing etc etc.

There is a "Big Note" plugin for LR.

The note is unfortunately not saved in an image's metadata but in the catalog only, but it is better than nothing.

I don't know whether the plugin still works in LR4 because I don't use the latter.

Both BigNote and CustomMetadata still work in Lr4.

PS, TK - I hope Adobe does right by you in Lr5 - I feel sorry for you still being "stuck" in Lr3.
