Lightroom CC/Mobile: History Syncing

One thing I think the mobile and new LR CC are missing is the Develop History information. I think this is particularly important in this cloud based context: for example I may have done an edit on my phone that is not quite right (I fumbled it, screen was too small or whatever) and then need to back it out or change it when I see it on a desktop.

If this could also be synced with the LR Classic develop history, this would be very powerful.

And then it could bring in snapshots. As if you currently want multiple snapshots of the same image, you need to make copies, which feels a bit messy.

I do wonder if being early adopters, we are losing out on some functionality that later adopters may get when they migrate their catalogs. E.G. when history is implemented to Lightroom CC, I wonder if our library will have that info anywhere to pull in? Same with snapshots and other meta data that currently isn't included (face tags etc).

According to Victoria Bampton (Lightroom Queen), who is well-plugged-in to Adobe, "but no new sync functionality will be added to Classic".  If true, then when history is added to the cloud products, it won't sync with Classic.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled I will be happy with Lightroom CC when edit has a history function. Please.

I really like having a history function, for my experience it changes a cheap experience into a full featured experience.

Please add Develop history (available in Lightroom Classic CC) to your new cloud-based version. When migrating from Lightroom Classic CC to Lightroom CC, the Develop history should migrate.

LRCC Where do I look for the preset that I have used in the new LR? I can't find a history panel.

I'd really like my develop history to be imported from Lightroom Classic CC into Lightroom CC. It's one of the key things holding me back from migrating to Lightroom CC.

Has there been any update to adding the history function since a year ago when they said that they had it on their list?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom CC: Please add Edit history.

Please add the ability to see individual edits and edit history to photos. This has been a long-standing feature in Lightroom Classic CC and is very helpful for seeing what changes have been made, especially for photos that have a lot of edits.

Would like to +1 this feature. I've managed to get my library into the unfortunate state that a large batch of photos (several thousand) have had their develop settings overwritten. Interestingly, the edits I've made are all in the edit history for the photos, and what amounts to "resets to original state" have been applied to them. This means I'm able to go through each photo and select the previous state in the edit history to re-apply the edits I've made (a hugely painful process), but I'm only able to do this from LR Classic, which is an added burden.
