I wish there were a history panel in Photoshop on the iPad as well as maybe a history of how often photoshops saves the file. I just had a situation where I flattened the layers to save as a flattened tiff, then went back in history in order to make sure the file saved with my layers in tact. However, when i went back in to view the file the file was flattened and there was no way to get my layers back to make future adjustments. Even if there was a “save as” panel where you can uncheck layers like is available on the desktop version. If anyone knows of a way to do this already, please let me know.

Because Cloud Documents are saved in pieces—as I understand it, only those bits that change get saved and then somehow the whole file is combined from these parts—it's very fast even with large files.

But without a proper working History, the downside many have spotted is losing something they've done and now want to undo. I gather Undo doesn't work in all situations? I've not tried, but I know having read similar posts to yours, I'm far more anxious about making a mistake I can't back out of with History than I am on the desktop. I agree they need to find a way to make it easier — maybe take a leaf out of Affinity Photo's History that you can choose to save with the file if you can stand the overhead.

I don't know how it would work with the Cloud Document format, though, but surely something will. Speed is not such a blessing if it costs us this much.
