Camera Raw: High ISO files from Hasselblad X1D have strange color NR behavior

Take a high ISO file from the X1D, something like ISO 25600 will work. The default color NR value of 25 seems to be incredibly aggressive on the X1D RAW files compared to RAW files from other cameras. You can see that the 25 color NR is causing all colors to wash and bleed out.

If you go up from 0 to 1 color NR, it goes from having no color NR to suddenly clearing all the color noise. It's as if the color NR value of 1 on X1D RAW files is equal to color NR value of 20+ on other camera's RAW files. The scale is completely wrong and makes fine tuning color NR impossible.

Does this only happens at 25k ISO or do you see it in lower ISOs as well?

Seems to only affect ISO 12800 and 25600.

I can confirm what you are seeing. The ISO 25600 image Color noise is gone at a Color NR setting of 2 and when increased to 4 the image starts to desaturate, which seems very aggressive. I tested a Canon 5D MKII raw file shot at the same ISO 25600 setting and it requires a Color NR setting of 8 and starts to desaturate above 15.

For what it's worth I noticed this desaturation in high ISO images some time ago and changed the Default Develop Color NR setting from 25 to 15 for my full-frame Canon cameras and to 20 for my 1.6 Crop cameras. I have yet to see an image file that needs more than that amount for ANY ISO setting.
