Hi, Rikk,
I inquired about the profiles for Canon RF lenses for Lightroom. Unfortunately your answer is not specific to my question.

I have heard elsewhere that for certain Canon RF lenses the corresponding profile is embedded in the image RAW file CR3. If this is true, Lightroom v. 8.3 should be able to display this embedded profile information correctly. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as I was able to show by screenshot.

So I repeat my question: Why is Lightroom v. 8.3 not able to display e.g. the corresponding profile for a Canon lens RF 50mm 1.2 USM? Why there is only a profil for the Canon RF 24-105mm and no once more?

Regards
Burkhard

Burkhard?

Are these standard raw files? Not sRaw, mRaw or specialty raw files? We may need to get a file from you to see if we get the same error message in our Lens Corrections panel.

Hi Rikk,

thanks for your Answer. Yes, it's a standard raw file from my Canon EOS R. I would like to send you a CR3-File. Please tell me which e-mail address you want me to send it to. But keep in mind, a test CR3 file has over 27 MB!

I routinely get 500 MB catalogs sent to me so it shouldn't be an issue. Email to:

Lightroom does not display the embedded profile. It will only state that an embedded profile is applied. Is that not the case with your RF-lenses?

The RF 24-105mm is apparently the odd one out. It's the only RF lens that Adobe made a profile for, so I assume it's the only RF lens that does not have an embedded profile made by Canon.

Everything looks ok on my end.  A profile hasn't been built for that lens yet. We are working on it for a future update.
