Photoshop CS (8.0): Stopped working &message was "Application Adobe Photshop CS has unexpectedly quit" (Mac OS X 10.3.9)

Hi, I have a Mac OSX 10.3.9. Suddenly my photoshop program (8.0) stopped working and the message was "The application Adobe Photshop CS has unexpectedly quit". This is all I get now when trying to access photoshop. Baffeld as to what the problem is.

I'd reset the photoshop cs preferences and see if that works.

Press and hold the Shift-Command-Option keys just after starting the launch of photoshop

Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File

Press Yes

Hi, If the above suggestion did not work, the Photoshop program is corrupt, probably the framework files. The only option is to completely delete the program using Appcleaner, which you can download from the internet. This competely deletes all files associated with Photoshop or any other program. After this reboot and reinstall.

No don't use that Appcleaner, it's confirmed malware.

And fortunately their is no version of that appcleaner that runs on mac os x 10.3.9

Almost all computers that will run CS will also run OS X 10.4 or 10.5. I would consider upgrading; 10.4 is a lot better fit for G3/G4 and 10.5 is even better if you have a faster G4/G5.

You might also think about getting a newer computer at this point. Even an entry-level Mac mini will run circles around your old PowerPC machine. You'll be able to use modern software and the Internet, too. With Photoshop CC at $10 a month, its not a huge added cost.
