Hi. Hoping someone can answer why I am unable to open CS6 PS files in the new CC2017 program?. I keep getting error messages for all PS files I try to open.  It says it is not the right kind of document?!  HElp

Hi Sam, that's very strange. Are you on Mac or Windows? I wonder if your installation is damaged in some way.

I am on windows. That said, before I loaded CC 2017 I had PS CS6 version on my desk top and the program also gave me the same error message.  I thought it was a program so I upgraded.  Not sure what to do!?

Please note this also happened to my coworker as well.  But she reinstalled the old version.  Not sure this is the right thing

Did reinstalling the old version let her open the files? Could you post one of the files (a small one) that you're having trouble opening? (Dropbox, etc)

Hi Sam,

Are you still having this problem?  Did reinstalling CC 2017 do any good?  If it were me, I'd uninstall both versions and only reinstall the newer one.

Thanks,
David
