i made a gif on photoshop and when i click "save for web" and click "save" on the bottom right corner, after i try saving it on my computer, a window pops up stating that it "could not complete this operation. an unknown error has occurred". I'm new to this and have no idea how to fix it.

Which version of Photoshop? Have you installed all the updates?

Which OS version?

And you don't "make a gif", you make an image then save that image in GIF format (or other formats if desired).

Go download the updates and install them -- when you first install you probably got 13.0.0. (you can check the version in Help -> System Info).

OK, the fact that you're trying to make an animated GIF could also be important information.

And, again, what OS version?
