Photoshop Elements: PSE 10 crashing on saving

I have dowloaded and installed the trial version of PSE 10, wishing to upgrade from my present PSE 5 (which runs beautifully but lacks the latest features.) However PSE 10 crashes EVERY time I try to save an image. I had exactly the same problem with the PSE 9 trial version so I hoped that PSE 10 would work! I am running an Acer Aspire M3201 computer with Vista Hope Premium, an AMD Phenom X4 9150e processor and 3.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 333MHz of RAM. There is plenty of hard disc space. There must be some sort of conflict between the program and my computer (although PSE 5 runs perfectly) and I would be grateful for any information or advice that would allow me to upgrade!

Where are you trying to save your images to? External drive? Network location? Desktop? Pictures folder?

What file format are you saving as? Settings? What format are the images originally? Pixel dimensions? Layers? Where are you opening the files from?

When in the save process does the application crash? Immediately upon clicking File>Save? Upon clicking the Save button?

Is there an error message?

Thank you for your reply. Hopefully I have now solved the problem. I reset my memory allocation and changed the order of the scratch disks and this seemed to work. I have now bought PSE 10 and all seems in order now. I was rather concerned, because I had this problem when I trialled PSE 9 and whatever I tried, I could not get past the crash when saving.
