Photoshop CS6 Standard. This version of Photoshop 13.0.1x36 is new and new to me. I have been using Photoshop 6 for years with never a problem. The platform is a brand new HP Pavilion wioth 2nd. Gen AMD Quad-core and 12 gb DDR3 ram.

Frequent occurance. 1. File image goes black, then returns when attempting to place guide line. 2. File image goes black and will not reopen when suing magic wand tool.

Anybody, please!

In Edit>Preferences>Performance and try disabling 'Use Graphics Processor' then try editing your file again (a restart of Photoshop may be in order).

If that fixes your problem, then you need to update the graphics card driver before you can use the GPU features in Photoshop.

If not, then you're out of luck until Adobe or your card manufacturer updates a fix.

Turning off GPU support is a temporary workaround until you can update your video card driver.
