Help! Elements 13 Organizer chokes when I attempt to import using "Files and Folders". Other import methods work fine.

I recently purchased and installed Elements 13 on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop. Everything seems to work fine, except when I try to import files using the 'Import from Files and Folders' option.

When I click 'Import... from Files and Folders', a new window opens [Libraries/Pictures/My Pictures] which contains a folder named 'Adobe.'

Almost immediately after the window opens, Windows gives me this message: "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

The program DOES import files successfully using :

1. 'Watch Folder,'
2. 'Import by Search'
3. Browse for a particular file or directory via the Import by Search option.

I have tried using the 'Repair Catalog' feature, as well as completely reinstalling the program, but have had no luck; I always immediately get the error message when I select 'Import from Files and Folders'.

Bummer. Can anyone help?

This is the first time I see such a problem (I also have Windows 7 64-bits).
You might try:
- creating a new empty catalog and try a test import
- using the Edit/preferences menu, General, and click on the button to reset to default settings (bottom left of the dialog).
- Creating a shortcut for the Organizer program on your desktop and running it in admin mode.

Thanks! I'll give it a try. I've tried with a new empty catalog, but ran into the problem mentioned above.

I'll check to be sure everything is in default setting and will make the desktop shortcut and try as administrator. Thanks for the suggestions.

Still have the problem. I've tried the suggestions given above, but any attempt to import using the files & folders option immediately results in Organizer being shut down by Windows.

I have tried disconnecting all USB drives and rebooting in Safe mode, all to no avail. Any other advice or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.
