This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled HEIF/HEIC export.

Adobe, thank you for adding PNG export in this latest version. It was very welcome. However, we now have another codec with lossless support that is a tiny bit more efficient than PNG, which is the HEIF format. The difference in file sizes is very noticeable.
A Lightroom Classic PNG (8-bit) export of one of my pictures is 28MB. HEIC's at lossless compression (encoded from a TIFF export) is 12MB. HEIF also support 16-bits.

That would be very much appreciated. :) Thank you!

Are there any plans to add HEIC export option in Lightroom Desktop? All I can see there now is JPEG or Original+Settings. It would be really great to save some disk space by using HEIC.

This is feature is really overdue. There is a better format for saving your photos but we can't use it. I'd like to export all my photos in this format to save it on my laptop. I would save about 100GB of space on my HDD... Please add this feature Adobe!
