Photoshop: Healing Brush fails on Layer Mask and Alpha

Like many here, i deactivated the 'new and improved' healing brush, but i'm noticing that when attempting to heal on either an alpha channel or layer mask, the healing acts like a clone.

Anyone else able to reproduce?

Looks like this is reproducible in CC14, so it's been an issue for a while...

Hi Earth, after talking with the engineers, it sounds like there are some long-standing limitations to using the healing tool. Someone will contact you directly to confirm what you are seeing.

Jeff - FYI, i was able to track this issue down to using the healing brush on layer masks which are on either on groups or adjustment layers. It works as expected on single/raster layers, but fails on anything else.
