Lightroom Classic: Having to restart LR often. lags / slows down

I'm finding myself having to reset LR more often than ever these days. I'm working on a collection of about 650 images, each about 24MP (fuji raw files). I get through about two dozen, then LR starts to lag (develop) and then becomes just terrible to use. I reset and things stay fluid until everything repeats itself and I have to reset again.

Windows 10, 32GB, separate SSD for LRcat files, GTX 1070, 4K monitor, working off a usb 3 8TB hard drive.

When you say, reset, do you mean reset preferences? That must be tiring! When things get bugged up, I usually restart LR Classic and it's fine until the next restart(usually 20mins or so)

Hey Jerry, I mean I have to restart the program. Sorry, I used the word 'reset' when I should have used 'restart'.

Sorry to intervene in a problem I can't help, but I'd like to point out to Adobe the confusion they created with their enormously bad name change. There is no way to know what program is indicated by the LR designation. It is the new mobile Lightroom or the desktop version that is now called Lightroom Classic? The new cloudy version should have had its own unique name and left us able to know what Lightroom and LR mean. It's not too late to do the right thing, Adobe.

Hi Rob, this thread is under the 'Products: Lightroom Classic CC' category, so yes, I'm referring to the newly terribly named Lightroom Classic CC, not Lightroom CC.

(I too can't quite believe that they couldn't come up with clearer names for their products - it's just terrible!)
