There isn't currently a version called Lightroom CC, so the first thing to do would be to check which Lightroom version your book is about (I'm guessing it's probably the version now called Lightroom Classic) and which app you've got installed (which is probably the cloud-based simpler Lightroom version).

That's why it doesn't make sense. The book is about Lightroom Classic. Look in the Creative Cloud app and try to install Lightroom Classic, then the instructions will make more sense.

Lightroom Classic is the traditional folder based version.

The Lightroom cloud-based ecosystem stores the photos in the cloud, making them accessible from any device.

This might help decide which one will be best for you: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/lightroom-cc-vs-classic-features/
