My external hard drive was accidentally disconnected during a file move of all my sons baby pictures. I cannot seem to find them on the external hard drive or on my computer. HELP! I need those pictures back!

Use Mac Finder or Windows Explorer to see if any of the files are on the original drive and/or external drive? Normally disconnecting the drive should abort the LR move operation with loss of perhaps a few files.

When moving a large number of files it's best to use Mac Finder or Windows Explorer and COPY (not MOVE) the files to the destination drive and then reconnect them as outlined here:

Do you have copies of your image files on a separate backup external drive?

Don't write any files on the disks you were using and use a file rescue program like sandisk rescue pro.
It will scan your disks and recover erased files if they have not yet been overwritten.
