Photoshop: Guide's position indicator is relative to document, not ruler

This conversation has been merged. Please reference the main conversation: Photoshop CS6: Guides positioning relative to document, not ruler origin

If I set the origin to a different position than default, the ruler follows receptively the changes, but when I try to put a guide, the position indicator will count the X/Y distance from the image's top-left most pixel.

The guides have to be positioned relative to the document. And the ruler can be moved at any time.

Now, are you asking that the info palette readout show you values relative to the ruler (even though the guide internally has to be relative to the document)?

Here are some screenshots describing my problem.

As you can see, the origin here is set to the default 0,0 and the guide is being placed at "X: 100px". This can be seen in the indicator, the ruler and in the info panel too.

But if I move the origin to a different position i.e 50,50, the ruler's indicator will not respect it, but the ruler and the info panel:

Hope this helps you identify the problem!

Thanks for your response!

I have the same problem as Adam. And as Jeremy on this forum page:

I move the ruler origin to anywhere besides the top-left-most corner of the document bounds (this is the default location). I then try to place new guides, relative to my new origin. Yet when I do, the location displayed in the tooltips cursor as I drag out the guide is still relative to the default (document bounds) ruler origin location, rather than my newly positioned ruler origin location.

Please help!
