Photoshop CC: Grainy photos after opening from Camera Raw

I have Photoshop CC. When I open an image in Camera RAW, the photo looks fine. When I open the image from Camer RAW, no matter if I make adjustments in Camera RAW or not, the image is very grainy when it opens. I have gone back and reopened images that were fine before, but now they are grainy also....but only on the PSCC screen, not on the Camera RAW screen. What have I done to cause the images to look grainy?

Make sure the image cache/pyramid levels setting in Photoshop's Performance preferences is set to 4 or higher. Setting it to a low value (1 or 2) will result in a grainy appearance when you are zoomed out on large images.

Also check your ACR settings and make sure you are not applying an excessive amount of sharpening when opening images in ACR.

Thank you so much, Chris. It was apparently a change I had made in how the images opened in ACR. After a few adjustments, it is fixed.
